Vietnam to help Cambodia organize esports events at next SEA Games


Vietnam Recreational and Electronic Sports Association (VIRESA) will support Cambodia Electronic Sports Federation (EFC) to organize e-sports events during the 32nd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 32) in Cambodia this year. next.

The partnership is part of a cooperation agreement signed by the two parties in Hanoi on May 23, following the success of esports events at SEA Games 31 in Vietnam.

VIRESA President Nguyen Xuan Cuong said that with its resources, experience and partners, his association is ready to help the EFC in all stages, from choosing competition categories to publishing technical manuals. , through the selection and training of the national team, the training of coaches and referees, the introduction of sponsors, to organize competitions with the best quality.

Vath Chamroeun, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia and permanent member of the organizing committee of SEA Games 32, appreciated the support of VIRESA when his country will host the biggest sporting event in the region for the first time.

At SEA Games 31, esports competitions took place from May 13 to 22. Vietnam has won four gold and three silver medals in this sport.

The next SEA Games are scheduled for May 5-16, 2023 in Cambodia with the participation of 11 countries from the region. It will also be the third time in a row that esports will be present at the Games. ANV
