How to check if someone has taken out a loan using your PAN card

PAN Card Fraud: Lending firm Indiabulls has been in the news these days due to the eruption of controversies surrounding its fintech platform Dhani Services. There have been a series of cases in which PAN cardholders learned that a loan had been paid to an unknown person on their PAN without asking for their consent. These bad loans disbursed by Dhani App are not repaid by scammers. Thus, the CIBIL score of the victims is badly affected due to this PAN card lending fraud.

Speaking on how cybercriminals run this PAN card lending fraud; New Delhi-based cybercrime expert Amit Dubey said: “Dhani App and another fintech platform is providing small loan on simple PAN card and submission of mobile number. As mobile number is attached to its bank account, the money transfer is done for another bank account although the PAN card belongs to another person.So in the name of quick disbursement of small loans, fintech platforms have left a loophole which is used by online fraudsters.

On how to stay safe from such PAN card fraud by such cyber criminals, Amit Dubey said, “Above all, one should not share one’s PAN and Aadhaar number with strangers or even anyone known because these documents are highly confidential. this, one must remain vigilant while sharing these materials in places where they can be misused. Thus, one should write the purpose of sharing the photo copy of his PAN card and his Aadhaar card and it should be written in such a way that part of the line appears on the image. This will negate any possibility of misuse of such cheats.

Apart from that, he advised PAN cardholders to keep checking their loan details and CIBIL score from time to time. He said that these days CIBIL score and loan details can be checked online by logging into the services of any credit bureau such as CIBIL, Equifax, Experian or CRIF High Mark for details. loans contracted against your name.

One can also check their loan details by logging into fintech companies like Paytm and PolicyBazaar apps. These fintech apps give users the CIBIL score instantly along with their loan details.
