“We are pleased to be able to offer family members and friends the opportunity to see these excellent student-athletes perform, and we always have protocols in place to help protect everyone’s health and safety,” said Director of Education JoAnna Roberto in a press release.

The plan, which comes into effect on Nov. 8, will see two tickets provided to each student-athlete.

People attending events with the ticket must be doubly vaccinated, wear masks and be seated at least two meters away from everyone outside their household.

Tickets will be signed and dated by the coach of each team.

The board noted that its plan could change depending on COVID-19 numbers.

Earlier this week, the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board announced plans to allow fans to attend indoor sporting events at secondary schools.

The move comes as some Athletic Association teams in Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk have started the playoffs, while others will do so next week.

The AABHN District 5 Basketball Playoffs begin Nov. 8 with the quarterfinals. The semi-finals will be played on November 11 and the finals will follow on November 15.

The District 5 volleyball quarterfinals will be held on November 8 and the semifinals on November 11. The league games will take place on November 16.
