Buckley appointed Director of Parks Sports Program

COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Parks and Recreation Department has hired a new athletic program director.

The department announced that Brady Buckley has been selected as the new Athletic Program Director, overseeing the Hamilton Community Center & Rink Director, Golf Pro / Manager and Athletic Coordinator. He will report to Deputy Director of Recreation Nikki Murphy.

“We are incredibly excited to have Brady join our Parks and Recreation team,” said Murphy. “Columbus, Indiana is a community with an impressive sports culture woven into the fabric of its identity. We rely on individuals like Brady who want to be a part of this unique community and who bring with them a new perspective on opportunities and improvements to our existing facilities and programs.

Murphy was previously director of athletic programs. In January, the department announced that she would take on the new role of deputy director of recreation. The position was added after recommendation of a comprehensive study of the structure of the ministry by the Eppley Institute for Parks and Public Lands.

Buckley was previously Sports Supervisor for the City of Louisville Metro Parks and Recreation Department since 2018.
