Premium DingTalk for Sports Games is designed to serve over 100,000 participants in the 2022 Asian Games

HANGZHOU, China, 20 October 2021 / PRNewswire / – Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology and intelligence backbone of the Alibaba Group, today unveiled at the Apsara 2021 Premium DingTalk for Sports Games conference today a digital solution to streamline organization and communications for events large-scale sportsmen. The new solution will be used for the 2022 Asian Games, which will be held in Hangzhou next September, serving more than 100,000 participants from all over the world.

Leveraging DingTalk’s cloud-based enterprise collaboration platform, the new sports solution provides a unique collaboration tool to connect stakeholders across all stages of the event hosting lifecycle – from organizers and suppliers to volunteers and venue operators – improving the operational efficiency of sporting events.

This solution allows different groups of event attendees to join the platform through a single gateway, anytime, anywhere. Organizers can manage these groups individually through a main platform, streamlining workflows while facilitating effective communications within and between groups.

To help event attendees, including volunteers and venue operators around the world, communicate better with each other, the platform also provides instant multilingual translation, remote video conferencing and many other functions to ensure a fluid and real-time exchange of information.

Other sports solutions unveiled at the Apsara 2021 Conference, held on October 19-22, include an AI-based simulation training solution for volunteers, which can provide virtual training to event volunteers in a cost-effective manner.

Based on AI algorithms, the robots create an immersive training environment by simulating real-world scenarios and generate information on trainee achievements using a standardized and systematic ranking system. By analyzing training information, these AI robots provide real-time feedback to volunteers and offer tailored refresher sessions to help them improve their performance.

What’s more, Alibaba Cloud launched a cloud-based ticketing system to optimize digital ticketing services at sporting events. This was adapted from a customer service system that was previously used by Alibaba Group markets such as Taobao and Tmall. When a match needs to be rescheduled, the system, supported by Alibaba Cloud’s conversational AI technology, automatically notifies ticket holders and manages refund requests.
